Ham Hocks In Sauerkraut Polish Style

Ingredients
  

  • 3 large ham hocks
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 1 large onion sliced into thin rings
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

  • Cover ham hocks with water.
  • Simmer 1 hour; drain.
  • Add sauerkraut, onion, sugar, and pepper; return to heat.
  • Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 hours, until meat falls off bone.
